Music found him, consumed his soul, and the artist known as Nguyễn Nam Thư was born into this world.

His path in life was always chosen for him. He left Vietnam alone with only the clothes on his back to an unknown land to start a new life. He began in Nebraska where he studied and graduated with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

He dreamt of a large family and a house on a green field, thus, he moved to San Diego in the late 1980s.  He would go on to father and home school his 6 children: Thanh Kim, Tâm Đan, Vẫn Nguyên, Nguyên Văn, Đồng Xanh, and Thanh Đồng.

His musical style and philosophy would cover a range of topics that touched his life and included such themes as love, tragedy, peace, his family, his country, and his dreams.

​

Nguyễn Nam Thư would go on to compose and produce hundreds of songs to which he performed for countless people around the country. 

​

He often spoke about the tragedy and sorrow that he experienced in his life. He came to accept his path and fate - to try to bring love and happiness to others through his music.
